Germantown Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school located on a beautiful 126-acre campus in the Fort Washington suburbs near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The school serves more than 1,200 students in grades PK-12. Position Purpose:  Reporting to the Director of Admission, Enrollment and Financial Aid, the Assistant Director of Admission guides assigned applicant families through the admission process from the inquiry phase through the enrollment process and operates as the school representative to those families. They contribute to admission outreach initiatives by serving as the liaison for the Community Partners program and by supporting feeder programs and events. They will attend all admission special events and school wide events as needed. They collaborate intra and interdepartmentally to support all work of the Admission, Enrollment and Financial Aid Office.

We are seeking candidates for a full-time position to join our community beginning July 2024. This is a 12-month position with an excellent array of benefits and a competitive salary. In addition, 100% tuition remission is available for a total of two children who qualify for K-12 admission and for whom space is available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned inquiry calls/email communication.
  • Manage select applicant families.
    • Conduct Student Interview.
    • Conduct Family Information Meetings.
    • Complete interview summary and thank you note.
    • Assign Admission Parent Partner outreach call.
    • Manage follow up correspondence.
  • Read and rate admission files as a member of the assigned Admission Committees.
  • Serve as liaison to external Community Partners including but not limited to the Heights Philadelphia program, Community Partnership School, and Harlem Lacrosse communicating directly with organizers about admission process steps for these applicants.
  • Assist with planning admissions events including open houses and outreach events and division specific special events.
  • Attend off campus feeder and marketing events, as necessary.
  • Attend communication and faculty meetings.
  • Attend all school community events.
  • Assist with enrollment process as needed, including decision follow up, enrollment questions and class placement of new students.
  • Assist the Director of Admission, Enrollment and Financial Aid as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skill Qualifications:

  • Warm, welcoming, and outgoing individual who can reach out to families from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, including strong writing and editing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative skills to work as a team player in a fast paced and busy office.
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented to ensure that this visible work is of high quality.
  • Able to multi-task, monitor deadlines, implement time management skills, and prioritize workload.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment and discretion in communicating with the public and the school community fully honoring the confidentiality required in admission work.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, and experience with Veracross preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience admission/advancement work, independent school preferred.
  • BA/BS required. MA/MS preferred.
